OHIM (starting with the 23rd of March EUIPO) informs the owners of international registrations containing an EU designation registered before the 22nd June 2012 using a Nice Class Heading to define the scope of protection, that they will have a period of time – between the 23rd March 2016 and 24th September 2016 inclusive- to clarify the exact scope of protection of their trademarks (otherwise, in compliance with the current practice, OHIM will limit to the literal meaning of the Nice Class Heading only).
The owners of the said trademark shall submit a declaration to the Office clarifying the goods and services they want to protect. More details about how to file the declaration are stated in Communication No.1/2006 of the President of OHIM.
